Look at you, Day 23! We’ve only got one week left in the Newbie Series, and today marks the end of the double crochet unit. I’ve got another round-up for you, featuring 16 free double crochet patterns for beginners. If you’re looking for more easy, beginner-friendly patterns, check out my single crochet round-up and half-double crochet round-up.

Below, you’ll find a variety of crochet projects like garments, blankets, shawls, and accessories. Best of all, they can all be crocheted with the techniques you’ve learned (or will learn) in the Newbie Series. Most feature standard double crochet stitches, but two use the V-stitch, which uses a dc-ch-dc to make a “V” shape.

Supplies / Materials
LOTS of these patterns can be crocheted with the same supplies we’ve been using in the Newbie Series. The following will get you pretty far:
- worsted weight acrylic yarn (like Brava)
- a hook from the Bright Hook Set (nine hooks from 2.0 mm – 6.0 mm)
Some of these patterns use fingering weight yarn or bulky yarn. I’ve included a note about the yarn/hook if they’re not part of our Newbie supplies.
