Round 2: ch 2, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each stitch around. (24)
Join with sl st but do not cut the yarn — you’ll use it again in Round 3b.
Round 3a: [Color B, front loops only] ch 2, tr between dc in Round 2, hdc. *hdc, tr in Round 2, hdc* 11 times. (36)
Join to first stitch with an invisible join. Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Round 3b: [Color A, back loops only, building on Round 2] Pick up yarn from Round 2, ch 2, dc in same stitch, dc. *2 dc, dc* 11 times. (36)
Join to first stitch with an invisible join. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
