Y’all, I’m so excited to share a new crochet blanket pattern! I’m calling it the Striped Baby Blanket, but it’s definitely for adults too. I never know if I should name a crocheted blanket a baby blanket or a lapghan or a throw, because they’re all about the same size. Regardless, this blue and grey striped blanket is about 42 x 36 inches (depending on your tension) and perfect for all ages of blanket lovers.

This modern striped crochet blanket (lapghan? throw? whatever) is double crocheted using two strands of Lion Brand Pound of Love and a 10 mm crochet hook. There’s a decorative edge on both sides, to add a little somethin’ somethin’ to the stripes. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crocheter, you’ll find this pattern straightforward and easy to work up.

I started crocheting this blanket over the summer, thinking it would be a present for my friend that was due in September. Crocheting started off well, but I wasn’t happy with my pattern and frogged a half-finished blanket. My second try was working up quickly during football season, but then I got lazy and didn’t work on it for months. Thanks to Colorado’s stay-at-home orders, I’ve had a ton of free time to get my act together!

The (finally) finished blanket is perfect for snuggling up with a book on the couch, or as a gift for a child or mom-to-be. Or, if you’re my dog, this stripey blanket is great for laying on while begging for snacks, especially if the crocheter is almost done with a row and needs to turn the blanket soon.
